Another government funded scholarship is available for international students to study free in Europe. Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MFA) in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Research (MER) of Romania is inviting applicants from all around the world for Romanian Government Scholarship for the year 2024-2025. This is a fully funded scholarship for students from non-EU countries, so all students from all countries except from EU can apply for this scholarship. Brilliant students with outstanding educational backgrounds are invited to apply.
Bachelor, Masters and PhD degrees are available under this scholarship programme with the exception of Medicine, Dental Medicine and Pharmacy. IELTS is not required to apply for this scholarship. Bachelors and Masters degrees are available in Romanian language while PhD students can opt for a program in English or a foreign language set by the doctoral school. As the language of study is Romanian and For those not speaking Romanian language, a preparatory year in Romanian is also granted prior to enrolling in the study program.
Romania is a country in southeastern Europe noted for its forested Transylvania area, which is surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. Its ancient towns, such as Sighişoara, are well maintained, and there are numerous fortified churches and castles, including the clifftop Bran Castle, which has long been associated with the Dracula legend. The colossal, Communist-era Palatul Parlamentului government edifice is located in Bucharest, the country’s capital.

Level of Degree under scholarship
Bachelors
bachelor’s degree programmes are addressed to graduates of high school studies or pre-university studies at the end of which they obtained a baccalaureate degree or equivalent, as well as candidates applying for further university studies in Romania. The complete programme runs for a period of 3-6 years, depending on the specialization followed and ends with a bachelor’s exam.
Masters
Master’s degree programmes are addressed to undergraduates, run for a period of 1 year, 1.5 years or 2 years and end with the dissertation exam.
PhD
PhD programmes are addressed to graduate students or equivalent and run for a period of 3-5 years, depending on the profile of the chosen faculty and end with the presentation of a PhD thesis. Admission to PhD and obtaining a scholarship are conditioned by an entrance examination.

Eligibility Criteria
- Students from countries outside of EU can apply
- Students must have a Good education background
- Must submit a complete application.
- Applicants have to follow the complete procedure to submit application.
- Applications after deadline is not acceptable
- Must obtain Letter of Acceptance in Romania by Ministry of Education
- For students under 18 notarized declaration of parental consent is required and the authorized translation into English, French, Spanish or Romanian, if applicable.
Scholarship Benefits and Coverage
Selected candidates will receive following benefits under this scholarship program,
- No registration or application fee
- Visa Fee Coverage
- Tuition fee coverage for the Romanian language preparatory year
- Full tuition fee coverage for the duration of the program.
- Monthly stipend for the Romanian language preparatory year and during actual studies with the amount of 65 EURO, for undergraduate, 75 EURO, for master and 85 EURO, for PhD students.
- Financing the accommodation expenses in the student dormitories
- Medical coverage
- Local public, ground, naval and underground transport, as well as domestic car, railway and naval transport, in the same conditions as those offered to Romanian students, according to the legal provisions.
Documents Needed
Following are the documents required to apply for Romania Government Scholarship,
- Curriculum Vitae in English or French in this required format
- Copy of National Identification Card with authorized translations into English or French if applicable.
- Copies of diplomas with authorized translations into English, Spanish, Romanian or French if applicable.
- Transcript copies with authorized translations into English, Spanish, Romanian or French if applicable.
- Copy of the first three pages of the passport
- Copy of the notarized declaration of parental consent in the case of candidates who have not reached the age of 18
- Medical certificate stating that candidate is fit for studies and is free of any contagious disease.

Application Deadline
Applications will open from 16th January 2024 and the last date to apply for fully funded Romanian Government Scholarship 16, March 2024. It is advised that candidates apply before deadline, late applications will not be accepted.

Candidates can apply online through the official portal scholarships.studyinromania.gov.ro make sure you have all the required documents ready.
You must add all your personal, Contact and academic details and you should also mention your preferable fields of study.

Scholarship Result
The results of the scholarship selection process will be announced by e-mail, on 15 July 2024 to every candidate who applied for a scholarship.
For admitted students, the Ministry of Education will issue a “Letter of acceptance for studies in Romania”, which will mention the obligation
After that student will have to send a response regarding the acceptance/refusal of the scholarship
in case of accepting the scholarship, the students has the obligation to contact the university to find out about the specific enrolment conditions (additional documents required, aptitude test, registration deadline etc.)
