For international students eyeing Taiwan as their study destination, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) offers one of the most attractive scholarship schemes. The NTHU International Student Scholarship comes in two types: Type A (Full Scholarship) and Type B (Tuition Waiver). These scholarships ease the financial burden by covering tuition fees, credit fees, and in some cases, offering a generous monthly allowance. Ph.D. students, in particular, can expect stipends that range from TWD 20,000 to 40,000 per month, combining support from the university and their advisors. Even undergraduates and master’s students benefit, receiving either tuition waivers or monthly allowances. The aim is clear: to attract bright, motivated minds from across the globe and support them throughout their studies in Taiwan.
NTHU has simplified its admission process for international students through an online application system. All documents, from transcripts and diplomas to recommendation letters and financial proof, must be uploaded digitally. The university is strict about deadlines and requires applicants to ensure that their submissions are complete before hitting “submit.” What makes NTHU stand out is the fact that scholarship applications are integrated into the admission process. In other words, when you apply for admission, you are automatically considered for the scholarship.
Founded in 1911 in Beijing and re-established in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1956, National Tsing Hua University has built a reputation as one of Asia’s leading research institutions. It consistently ranks among the top universities in Taiwan and excels in fields like engineering, sciences, and technology management. The campus blends rich tradition with cutting-edge innovation, offering students a dynamic environment for academic and personal growth.
