Generation Google Scholarship is open for students from Three different regions, For Asia Pacific, For North America and for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Women from these regions who are interested in the fields of Computer sciences, Gaming and Supply Chain are encouraged to apply online.

Generation Google Scholarship Details

Generation Google Scholarship Asia Pacific

Women studying in undergraduate programs in any accredited university can apply and selected scholars will receive 1000$ grant which can be used must be spent on tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for the students’ classes.

Eligibility

• Be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s degree for the 2021-2022 academic year
• Be in your 2nd year of study at an accredited university in Asia Pacific country when completing the scholarship program
• Be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field
• Demonstrate a strong academic record
• Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for improving representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology

Essay Questions:

Answer the following two questions to assess your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and financial need. Each answer should not exceed 400 words,

Question 1) What is a significant challenge that you believe women in the tech industry face and how do you see yourself being part of the solution(s) to this challenge? Keep in mind that impact can happen in many ways and at different scales.

Question 2) What impact would receiving this scholarship have on your education? Describe any circumstances affecting your need for a scholarship and what educational goals this scholarship will enable you to accomplish.

Generation Google Scholarship For Europe, Middle East and Africa

Women in Computer Science and Gaming fields who are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate at a university can apply the scholarship. Selected Google Scholars will be awarded 7,000 EUR award (or local equivalent). Women in Computer Science in Ireland and enrolled in undergraduate programs can apply and receive 5,000 EUR grant,

Eligibility

Following conditions must be met to be eligible for the Google Scholarship,

• Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2021-2022 academic year
• Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program at an accredited university in Europe, Middle East or Africa for the 2022-2023 academic year
• Be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field
• Demonstrate a strong academic record
• Exemplify leadership and demonstrate a passion for improving representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology

Essay Questions:

For region of Europe, Middle East and Africa following five question to assess your computer science and gaming experience. Each answer should be 300 words or less.

Question 1) How did you become interested in computer science, and what are your goals or aspirations when you think about pursuing a degree in this field? In your answer, please describe how your experiences have influenced the goals you have for yourself.

Question 2) Please describe the most significant computer science project or research you have worked on, how you approached key technical challenges, and what you gained from the experience. It might have been a class assignment, a research project or work as an intern. If the project was team-based, specify your individual role and contributions in the project. Treat this essay as a technical report or research paper. Feel free to use tables, references, or figures.

Question 3) Please give us one example of how you have exhibited leadership. Explain how you were influential, what you were trying to achieve and the impact you had as a result. These need not be demonstrated through formal or traditional leadership roles. Think broadly and examine the many ways you are having an effect on the members of your technical community, your university or your broader community.

Generation Google Scholarship For North America

Women from North America region studying in Computer Science, Supply Chain and Gaming fields who are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate at a university can apply the scholarship. Selected Google Scholars will be awarded $10,000 USD (for those studying in the US) or $5,000 CAD (for those studying in Canada) for the 2022-2023 school year.

Eligibility

Applicants meeting following criteria can apply,

• Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program at an accredited university or college in the United States or Canada for the 2022-2023 academic year
• Be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field
• Demonstrate a strong academic record
• Demonstrate financial need
• Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for improving representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology

For region of North America following five question to assess your computer science and gaming experience. Each answer should be 500 words or less.

Think broadly and examine the many ways you are having an effect on the members of the different communities you are a part of. Keep in mind, the example you choose does not need to be a formal or traditional leadership role.

Question 2) What is a significant challenge that impacts historically excluded groups in the field of technology and what do you believe is the root cause of this challenge? What actions have you taken to address this challenge? Keep in mind that impact can happen in many ways and at different scales. Please focus at least half of your response on the actions you have taken.

Question 3) Describe any financial circumstances affecting your need for a scholarship. In your answer be sure to describe any obstacles you have overcome to get to where you are today. What goals will this scholarship enable you to accomplish?

Complete an online application which includes:
