The McCall MacBain Scholarship in Canada is one of the most prestigious fully funded scholarship opportunities available to both Canadian and international students. Funded through a landmark $200 million gift from the McCall MacBain Foundation, the scholarship provides comprehensive financial support for eligible master’s and professional degree programs at McGill University. Up to 30 McCall MacBain Scholarships and up to 100 finalist and regional awards will be offered to candidates who distinguish themselves during the interview process. Beyond funding, scholars gain access to mentorship, leadership training, networking opportunities, and a diverse community of changemakers from around the world.
Recipients become part of the McCall MacBain Scholars community, where they participate in leadership development activities throughout the year. McCall MacBain Scholarships Admission Information:
Applications are invited for the McCall MacBain Scholarships for the 2027 admissions. If applicants are intended to apply for the full-time master’s program or second entry of the undergraduate program. If applicants are applying for the Summer admission program then applications are also acceptable.
Duration of the Program:
The program will be for 45 or more credits at the McCall MacBain Foundation.
Deadline
Applications are open from June 1 and last date to apply for Canadian and U.S students is 23 September and for the rest of the world deadline is August 19, 2026.

Scholarship Coverage
McCall MacBain Scholarship covers following to the selected candidates,
- Full tuition costs and mandatory university fees are covered for the entire standard length of the eligible master’s or professional degree program.
- Recipients receive a monthly living allowance of CAD 2,300 throughout the academic year to help with day-to-day expenses.
- A one-time relocation award is provided to assist scholars with the cost of moving to Montreal before starting their studies.
- Students have access to French language training at various proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced, through programs offered by McGill University.
- Scholars who are not enrolled in academic coursework during the summer term may be eligible to receive up to CAD 5,000 in funding to support impactful summer projects, research, internships, or community-based initiatives.
Range of Financial Awards:
- 30 scholarships will be at McGill institutes of Canada of which 20 scholarships are for the Canadians and 10 for the eligible international students.
- 55 Finalist awards will be provided in which Canadians are eligible for 30 awards of $10000 and international students are eligible for 20 awards worth of $20,000 each for the full-time master’s program at McGill University.
- 45 Regional awards out of which 30 are for Canadians worth 5000$ and 15 Regional Awards of $10,000 are available for international students to study at any Public University of Canada.
Eligible Criteria:
- You are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and are expected to complete your first bachelor’s degree no later than August 2027.
- You obtained your first bachelor’s degree within the past five years, meaning your graduation date was January 2021 or later.
- You completed your first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago and were no older than 30 years of age as of January 1, 2026.
- You must meet the english proficiency requirements.
- Minimum cGPA of 3.0 out of 4 is required.
- Applicants will be eligible for this scholarship program or not it will be decided in the interview.
