Canadian post-secondary Institutions responsibilities:

Some post-secondary institutions roles and responsibilities which they have to fulfill on behalf of students or candidates who wanted to apply for the Study in Canada scholarships:

  • Post-secondary institutions submit the applications to the Canadian government on behalf of students
  • Institutions must promote or give awareness to their staff and faculty members as well as to the partner institutions from the eligible countries.
  • Rank scholarship applications on the basis of strategic priorities of institutions.
  • Post-secondary institutions must identify that single person responsible for the submission of the application
  • Intuitions sign a contribution agreement with DFATD and disburse scholarship funds to selected and successful candidates and:
  • Also, submit quantitative and qualitative reports during the scholarship period.

Applicants Roles and responsibilities:

Applicants who wanted to apply for the Study in Canada scholarships must know about these things:

  • Applicants should tell about their interest in applying for scholarships to their home instuitions
  • Applicants should request information from their home institutions about the application procedure, selection criteria, and also about the Canadian partner institutions.
  • Applicants must know about that if there is an existing institutional collaboration or exchange agreement between their home institution and Canadian Institution.

Post Secondary Institutions from eligible Countries/ Territories:

  • Promote these scholarship programs through international offices
  • Communicate with partner post secondary institutions in Canada to make sure about the more collaboration and students exchange program
  • Provide all required and supporting documents on behalf of students to the Canadian Partner universities
  • Also advise selected candidates to gain additional linguistic training and intercultural skills before their departure.

  • Europe: Türkiye, Ukraine
  • Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia
  • Sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda

Deadline:

The last date to apply for the Canadian scholarships is March 19 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:

The qualifications are different for the various posts and please check the official site link given below.

  • Applicants must give assurance, they will give engage in full time studies or research as defined by Canadian institutions are eligible for the scholarships
  •  Applicants must get clinical training or clinical oriented research involved in Patient care
  • Applicants must focus on full time study or research in Canada
  • Applicants give assurance that they will return to their homeland after completion of the scholarship periods
  • Applicants must arrive in Canada for the uptake of their award between August 1, 2023 but no later than February 1, 2024. Failure to arrive during this time may result in the cancellation of the scholarship.

Additional Information:

  • Applicants who will be unsuccessful in getting these scholarships will not be provided any feedback.
  • EduCanada scholarships will not be renewable or postponed
  • Funding of scholarships will be only from the Canadian government
  • Scholarships are not taxable for either the Canadian institutions or scholarship institutions
  • Funding of scholarships will be provided by Global Affairs Canada through its legal title: Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development DFATD.

EduCanada Scholarship Benefits:

Successful Applicants will get many financial benefits from the DFATD, scholarships rewards will be as follows:

  • Canadian Dollars 10,200 for college, undergraduates students masters or Ph.D. for four-month or one term of study or research
  • CAD 12,700 for graduates masters or Ph.D. for 5 to 6-month terms of study or research
  • Applicants will also get 500 CAD as administration cost once the successful candidates arrive in Canada
  • In certain cases, Canadian institutions may be eligible for reimbursement of additional employer compliance fees paid to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.

Eligible Expenses:

  • Visa or study/ work permit fees from the scholarship expenses
  • living expenses such as accommodation, utilities, and food
  • Ground transportation including public transportation pass
  • Book supplies are required for the recipients’ study or research, excluding computers and other equipment.

The Canadian institution will receive funding from DFATD in the form of a contribution agreement and disburse funds to scholarship recipients according to its internal processes.
