Eligibility Criteria:

Following are the requirements which need to be fulfilled before applying,

  • For undergraduate applicant must have a high secondary school degree for undergraduate
  • For masters applicants must holder of a undergradiate program
  • For Doctorate program applicants must have a masters degree from a recognized university
  • English Proficiency Certificate is required for international students. For English speaking countries it is not necessary.

Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships

There are many other renewable scholarships that can be awarded to international students:

  1. U and S entrance scholarship program 6000$ each year for 4 years
  2. George and Marsha Ivany President’s First: $10,000 annually ($40,000 in total over 4 years)
  3. Chancellor’s Scholarship: $7,500 per year ($30,000 in total for 4 years).
  4. College of Agriculture and Bio-renewable Entrance Scholarships: $3,000/year for 4 years.
  5. Edwards Undergraduate Scholarships: A sum of a total $24,000 will be awarded.

These scholarships are for international students,

1) University of Saskatchewan International Excellence Awards

This is for international students who got admission at University of Saskatchewan. This award is based on academic achievement, students who got admission will be automatically considered for this scholarship.

Scholarships worth is 10,000$.

2) International Baccalaureate (IB) Excellence Awards

International students who completed International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma will be automatically considered for this scholarship.

Scholarships worth is 20,000$.

3) USask Bridging Scholarship Awards

For students applying for joint admission (undergraduate + ESL).

Scholarship is worth 1,500$

4) Canadian Curriculum Schools Awards

International students graduating in Canadian Curriculum. Eligible students are required to complete Canadian Curriculum Schools Awards application in PAWS.

Scholarship worth is 15,000$

5) Council of International School Awards

For students taking admission in undergraduate program at University of Saskatchewan who graduated from CIS member schools. Separate application in PAWS is required to be considered.

6) Maple Leaf International School Awards

Students graduating from Maple Leaf Educational Systems (MLES) curriculum school are eligible for this scholarship. Separate application in PAWS is required to be considered.

Graduate Scholarships

Following graduate scholarships are available for students at University of Saskatchewan,

1) Dean’s scholarship

For high caliber students with brilliant academic records who are registering for the first time in thesis or dissertation based graduate programs.

  • Scholarship value for Masters is $18,000 per year for two years.
  • Scholarship value for PhD $22,000 for per year for three years plus tuition

2) University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarships

Open for new and continuing graduate students. This award is available in selected departments. Departments nominate suitable candidates for this scholarship.

  • Scholarship value for Masters is $16,000 per year for two years.
  • Scholarship value for PhD $20,000 for per year for three

3) Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship

This is a fully funded scholarship for world-class doctoral students. For VCGs you cannot apply directly but the university you have applied to, have to nominate you for this scholarship.

  • Scholarship value is 50,000$ for 3 years

4) Graduate Teaching Fellowships

Graduate Students who are studying in full time programs can apply for Graduate Teaching Fellowships. Fellows are required to work up to 12 hours per week.

  • Fellowship is worth 16,000$ per year

5) Teacher-Scholar Doctoral Fellowships

This scholarship is awarded through nation-wide competition to doctoral students in 2nd to 5th year if their program.

  • Scholarship is worth $21,000 over one year

6) Graduate Teaching Assistantships

New and continuing students are hired by their academic units to assist with teaching and marking courses. Department and colleges are eligible to offer this employment.
