Hardiman PhD Scholarship 2026 at University of Galway

Eligible applicants from all around the world can apply for this scholarship. Scholarship is availbale for students who will start there PhD in september so if you are already doing PhD then you cannot apply for this scholarship.

Duration of scholarship is four years.

Eligibility Requirement

Following are the eligibility requirement to apply for the scholarship,

  • Applicants from all countries are eligible to apply.
  • Must have first or upper second class honours primary degree or equivalent.
  • Scholarship is for new PhD students only. If you have already doing or done PhD then you are not eligible.
  • English Proficiency Cerrtificate is required like IELTS with minimum 6.5 band. This is not required for students from english speaking countries.

Deadline for Hardiman Scholarship is 6th February 2026.

How to Apply

Applicant mujst nominate 1 supervisor. applicant must find and contact supervisor first and discuss PhD plans.

Applicant must completey submit the scholarship application including the application form, supervisor form and two academic references.

The applicant completes section A and provide it to the proposed supervisor form. Then applicant’s proposed supervisor should complete the section B of the supervisor form. Proposed supervisor must submit the University of Galway supervisor form to hrscholar@universityofgalway.ie.

Two academic reference forms where applicant submit the section A and referees submit the section B. And submit the reference forms to hrscholar@universityofgalway.ie.

Submit the scholarship application before deadline at hrscholar@universityofgalway.ie.
