Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Open to international students of all nationalities, including Slovaks living abroad.
- Applicants must not be Slovak permanent residents since 1 January 2021.
- Must be applying for full-time Bachelor’s, combined Bachelor’s and Master’s, or Master’s programmes.
- Doctoral (PhD) programmes are not eligible under this scholarship.
- Bachelor’s applicants must have completed secondary education outside Slovakia.
- Master’s applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or be progressing directly from a Slovak Bachelor’s programme under the stated conditions.
- Applicants must apply to an eligible public or state higher education institution in Slovakia.
- A structured CV and motivation letter in English are required.
- Applicants under 18 years of age must provide parental or legal guardian consent.
- Applicants must achieve at least 1100 SAT score or an average 63rd percentile in the SCIO tests.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Scholarship worth up to €15,000.
- Monthly payment of €500.
- Funding for up to 3 academic years for Bachelor’s or combined Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes.
- Funding for up to 2 academic years for Master’s programmes.
- Scholarship payments for 10 months each academic year (September to June).
- Opportunity to study at selected public universities across Slovakia.
Available Fields
Students can apply for selected full-time study programmes offered by participating public Slovak universities in areas covered under the Smart Specialisation Strategy of the Slovak Republic (SK RIS3 2021+). These include programmes related to science, engineering, technology, innovation, healthcare, digital transformation, sustainable development, and other priority academic fields identified by the Slovak government.
